DAY THREE
Took the high speed rail to Taichung, then a long bus ride, then a ferry to Sun Moon Lake. My motion sickness almost killed me that day. The view there was quite awesome, but also overrated.
Delicious yam cake which I will never get to eat ever again T__T
All day, err day man.
More stray dogs! An extremely fluffy one this time!
Took the cable car to the Aboriginal Cultural Village which was boring as f**k!
This fermented tofu was good! It wasn't too smelly, but smelly enough. I love the preserved vegetables that come with it.
Pineapple ice-cream :)
We had dinner at a restaurant where the dishes were cooked in a very local style. I didn't know vegetables could taste so flavourful with fermented black beans and a raw egg. The steamed chicken and wild boar meat was good too!
Our first time trying Taiwan beer :)
DAY FOUR
View from the hotel room in the morning…
Me sleeping with my coat cause it is pretty darn cold by the lake.
We took the HSR back to Taipei, then another train out to Luodong. The travelling never ends…
GIZZARD (some sort of duck guts)
This peanut ice-cream was good! They wrap it in popiah skin and top it off with coriander/ cilantro/ Chinese parsley it's all the same. But I prefer it without. Who would want coriander in the ice-cream yuck…
Yummiest 蔥油餅 (scallion pancake?) ever
I never knew how they made popiah skin. They just massage a lump of dough over the pan and voila!
This was pretty darn amazing.
I've never eaten the malt-covered strawberries before and I've always wanted to try. Finally did and I was sorta wowed. Firstly, I didn't expect the malt to be hard. Secondly, I didn't expect the strawberries to be so sweet! Loved it!
I love the custard ones. It's a pity Singapore's pancakes have barely any custard in it :(
This is the end of day four. Two more posts coming up!
