Bonjour! Ça va bien? It has been one and a half weeks since I first arrived in France.
As you guys may or may not know, my MacBook Pro died. Yet again. I have no clue what did I do in my past life to deserve this. What I'm most devastated about is I have lost the itinerary I've painstakingly planned for Paris, along with my pictures from Japan and all my music... Give me a month to mourn.
Thankfully my mom bought one (Retina, delicious) just before we left for France and she doesn't use it often so I can hog it for the time being, or else I would've been stuck with my dad's Acer laptop which I have no clue how to use. Sorry for sounding so spoilt but I am indeed helpless without my MacBook, #firstworldproblems.
Last weekend, we were at La Mongie, a large ski area in the Pyrénées. The 4 hour drive there was breathtaking… We drove through small towns with the most beautiful churches and old houses. We saw sheep, goats, cows, horses, and tons of trees, meadows and hills. I didn't take many pictures on the drive up because it just didn't look as good on camera. Pictures can't justify the beauty of the South of France. But just Google "Pyrénées" to see what I'm talking about. Then as we drove higher up into the mountains, we started to see the snowcapped tops… All my sister and I said was "OMG SNOW!!!!!!"
Anyway, I can't believe it but I learned how to ski!!! And I'm not great at it, but I think not bad for 2 hours of lessons okay… I fell 4 times hehe… I don't have many pictures of me skiing because I was skiing I didn't bring the camera duh. But I do have lots of pictures of Pic du Midi (translates to Peak of Southern France I think…) below.
Anyway, I just thought I'd share some pictures I've taken in France before they start to pile up.
First encounter with blue skies
Dino socks and I KNOW that socks are not meant to be worn with slippers it was just a short while chillax
On a random trip to the supermarket...
The cutest milk bottle
Omg these hand soaps are 3D…they have fishes swimming in them!?!?!
In Singapore, we have yogurt, but in France…WHAT IN THE WORLD
And their yogurt here is the thickest and the best, not like the watery gooey crap you get in SG.
One of my faves…
SKI TRIP
On the cable car to the Pic du Midi observatory tower
Steeeeep..........
Do I look like I'm absolutely freezing because I absolutely am
DSLR selfies are hard
I never knew even commercial aeroplanes leave a trail when they fly because Singapore's skies are always white and cloudy…
Apart from this little ski trip, my stay in France has been kind of eh and kind of meh. I'm not a fan of bread and French Cuisine… I also fell very ill just before the ski trip– fever, nausea, indigestion, body aches, just feeling poorly in general. From then, I've developed a phobia for everything I've eaten in the past week, which includes tons of potato chips and those microwavable foods or as my parents call them "ding-ding". I still feel nauseous at the sound of certain foods like shell pasta or sun-dried tomatoes…
Anyway, I'm heading to the City of Love tomorrow for a week… Then it's 2 more weeks and I'm homebound. Time really flies… I'll update again with more pictures when I get back from Paris. For now, au revoir! :)
