I've heard mixed reviews about it. Some say it's bad, some say it's amazing. I personally thought it was a beautiful film. I had a hunch it wouldn't have a happy ending though, because c'mon which film starring Leonardo DiCaprio ends with the lead couple riding off into the sunset? But I guess that's what makes us love the character even more.
My heart ached so badly when *spoiler ahead* the phone rang, but as Gatsby got up from the pool, he was shot. And as he fell back into the pool, he said "Daisy" for the last time. Then my eyes welled up and I started to cry. Why??? Why must he love Daisy so much??? Why must he let every single decision he makes revolve around Daisy??? Why must he take the fall for Daisy??? When we found out it wasn't even Daisy who called, I cried even more. The last part, when nobody except Nick attended his funeral…my heart could not take one more tragic moment. My eyeballs could literally be placed with the huge fountain outside his house as additional water features.
Okay it's bedtime for me! Good night :)
