An early Fathers' Day gift, paid by the father himself

Last Friday night (actually this Friday but saying "Last Friday" gives me a reason to sing) my sister gave this impromptu idea to visit Universal Studios Singapore on Saturday. I don't know for exactly what reason (probably to celebrate Fathers' Day) but my mom actually agreed!!!

I think Blogger doesn't do my camera justice. To view the pictures in HQ, just click on them.

This ride had me going crazy. Battlestar Galactica is this roller coaster ride that has two separate tracks with it's own carriages- blue and red. The red track's carriage is the normal roller coaster carriage, whereas the blue track's carriage lets your feet dangle freely in the air. They both start simultaneously and at a few points in the ride, both carriages will cross paths.

I took Battlestar Galactica Cylon (the one on the blue track). I was so scared, yet it was so fun, I wasn't panicking much on the ride, yet after taking it I was shaking and I couldn't walk. Before taking the ride, I'd be all "MOM WE HAVE TO TAKE THIS RIDE!!!!" Then while queuing for the ride I'm all "shit can I back out it's so terrifying I'm shaking inside..." But I eventually got on.

The part I hate most about roller coasters is the ascend, it's so freaky like you can't see your surroundings and all you know is that you are going up just to be coming down at a speed 10 times faster. This ride's ascend is different, it starts out slow... Then it suddenly increases sharply in speed and you shoot out into the air, and before you know it, you're coming down. Then comes the corkscrews, the twists, the somersaults and everything else.

I don't even remember how I felt on the ride. I just knew my heart was pumping really fast, the adrenaline was really high, I wasn't afraid. When I got off I could barely wear my shoes because I was shaking so bad. That was when I realized how terrified I actually was.

The queue is about 4 times longer than this for everything else, takes almost an hour just to get on a ride:

Some other rides I took were: Revenge of the Mummy, Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, Canopy Flyer (this was the scariest), Enchanted Airways, and other attractions like Madagascar: A Crate Adventure, Lights Camera Action and Shrek 4-D Adventure.

Most of the rides I took were very enjoyable because I was always caught off-guard. I hate going in reverse because it scares me, but I kind of like being scared. 3 out of 5 rides I took had me going in the opposite direction, my heart was in my mouth!

Anyway I think the day passed rather fast. We didn't have dinner but had milkshake instead. The fireworks started promptly at 9 pm and wow it was a spectacular sight. I'm trying to upload the video on to YouTube but it's telling me it's going to take 164 minutes and I'm like yeah right.

We headed back to VivoCity for dinner at Food Republic. Below are just pictures I took while playing around with my portrait lens.

A great day spent! Fantastic weather! Fantastic everything!
